چکیده

Carbon composite nanotubes are the harder than the diamond and composed by carbon. So we can identify the carbon-nanotube-based composite materials by polarized Raman spectroscopy This technique may be used to identify carbon nanotubes , access their dispersion in polymers, evaluate nanotube /matrix interactions and detect polymer phase transitions. The Raman spectra of nanotubes can also be used to quantify the strain or stress transferred to nanotubes from the surrounding environment and to investigate local stresses and strains in polymers and composites. A polarized Raman technique was developed to detect the stress or strain in a matrix using randomly dispersed single-walled nanotubes. This technique was developed to detect and map stress fields in model fibre-polymer composites and Carbon composites.

A RIGOROUS COMPARISON OF METHODS FOR MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES PURIFICATION USING RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT’s) were synthesized using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in a fluidized bed reactor under the flow of methane and hydrogen gases. A Cobalt-molybdenum/magnesium oxide (Co-Mo/MgO) nanocatalyst was used as the catalyst of the process. The samples were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. The effects of d...

Spark Plasma Sintering of Ultra-High Temperature Tantalum/Hafnium Carbides Composite

TaC and HfC are thought to have the highest melting point (~4000°C) among all refractory materials. The binary solid solution of TaC and HfC (Ta4HfC5) is also considered as the most refractory material with the melting point over 4000 °C and valuable physical and mechanical properties. The main goal of this work is to fabricate TaC/HfCbased composites which consolidated by means of spark plasma...

Polarized raman spectroscopy on isolated single-wall carbon nanotubes.

Polarized micro-Raman spectroscopy has been performed on spatially separated single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in the form of individual nanotubes or thin ropes of only a few SWNTs. Different from bulk samples, the Raman spectra are composed of well-resolved peaks which allow a direct comparison of experimental data with theoretical calculations. Orientation-dependent measurements reveal max...
